I still don't know how Jinguu-sensei can reconcile this Tsuji with the future one who attempts to close down Ooarai with thinly disguised smug malice and even flagrantly cheats on his second attempt doing so. Unless this remake diverges from the previous series (which had at least one flashforward clearly showing that the University All-Stars vs. Ooarai match still happens) by being set in a completely different worldline.

The event you're speaking happens in the first version of the story. Here we're in a rebooted version of the series where plenty of things have changed. Maybe in this universe things will take another way.

Or Renta had the idea of boosting Anzio's funding with what would be saved by closing Ooarai.

Methods and motives, I suppose. Publicise it as a merger of Ooarai into Anzio since, canonically, Anzio Academy's town is an incredibly short distance from Ooarai and it makes a certain kind of sense to have one school serve both places.
