Are you supposed to use some other kind of spoon? (Serious question, I don't know from fish eggs. Except I thought caviar was supposed to be black, not red.)

It's commonly believed that metal changes the taste. True or not, it's usually considered uncultured to eat caviar with a metal spoon. You use a bone, crystal, or pearl spoon instead.

From the color I think it's salmon roe, not sturgeon caviar which is usually yellow-ish when freshly extracted and black after processing.
