The only reason comments get hidden is because they're below your Comment Threshold. Most downvoted comments probably average between 1 and 5 downvotes, and the default threshold for new accounts is 0, so it's literally just one person most of the time that didn't like the comment. If you don't want comments to be hidden, just go to your account settings and set your threshold to -100 or something.

Mine is set to -10 and I almost never encounter hidden comments, which usually tells me that if one is hidden, it must be a really shitty comment.

Still, I personally try to only ever downvote rude people who are being agressive or insulting.
Downvoting jokes I didn't like feels kinda selfish. XP

I don't know, I don't think women generally twist their bodies to show off their front when standing facing the people they're talking would work just as well.

...unless the artist wants to show as much her body and as little of the other person's as possible, as porn artists do.
