If there's one thing I criticize Arknights for, it's the lack of animal features on the characters. Would be nice if Skadi had an orca tail
Almost all of the characters have animal features though? Only a few don't, ignoring the ones that aren't based on animals to begin with. The ones that don't usually have something in their design to reference the animal they're supposed to be.
Yes I know Deepcolor is an octopus. I noticed the keychain in her pre-E2 art and the summoning of tentacles
Tho the abyssal operators (and possibly related to abyssals) lacking the obvious animal features is something I did not notice. I guess that's why Cuora maybe related somehow? Being another character without an obvious turtle feature not counting the backpack. I just want it to be obvious like a tail or something. Even Skadi's hair which supposedly references the orca tail is not very obvious.

Cuora's a turtle. Her E2 art shows her backpack which is an turtle shell themed armored back pack. and while Blue Poison is also an abyssal, she's based on the poison dart frog which is' shown as her coat. And well Specter is a shark, of indeterminate species, but her Nun's habit has a dorsal fin like peak and two long flaps that look like pectoral fins. I don't know what parts of Skadi's outfit signals an Orca... but there must be something. And well Deep color's a garish mixture of colors and patterns which might harken to an octopus' ability to change shape and skin tone at will...

That's why I think it would have been nice if the animal features were actually a physical part of their bodies and not just referenced through clothes, accessories, and equipment. Btw, as for Skadi, I already mentioned her hair that's supposed to be an orca tail, but there's also her hat which has the dorsal fin and her "thigh holes" referencing the orca's spots.
