    The modern MREs are actually really good. I've only had US, UK, and Russian MREs. I had one that we think was Chinese, but we aren't actually sure. All were pretty tasty. Were they not expensive to buy and packed with calories that would make you fat outside of combat, I would eat them every so often in day to day life by choice.

    C rations on the other hand, were absolute trash. Admittedly the ones I had were "expired" but if you store these things in a decent environment they theoretically should last forever. Military MRE for example don't have expiration dates. The C-rats weren't nearly as filling as an MRE either.

    Supposedly there is a saying in Ukraine that if you don't think rations are a gourmet meal, you simply aren't hungry enough.

    you probably got luck with that Chinese ration unless its ROC cause I remember Steve actually got sick from a PLA ration

    he tried 4 total as i recall, the first 2 was horrible, than a 24 hour ration that's really boring looking, and the 4th one he actually liked
