There are several interpretations on romanization of Japanese or even Chinese.
This one (I forgot the actual name it's called) is actually discarding unneeded part in pronunciation. So Houshou becomes Housou, Natsu becomes Natu and so on.
(this isn't quite used by foreigners and more used by Japaneses for some reason)

Houshou is just mis-spelled, Sho/So isn't the same as Tsu/Tu.

Well, it's an actual romanization system in use.
Though I myself dislike it very much and tend to go with romanizing everything as it's written down in kana. Even the phonetic romanization doesn't sit well with me either.
