I feel you. The few characters that I like from Azur Lane (z23, Cleveland, Tirpitz and Bismarck) it's because they have an actual interesting personality instead of being over sexualized. I'm not saying that Kantai Collection is free of guilt in that topic, but at least they give their characters some traits instead just put some massive bewbs and skimpy clothes.

most of KC ship personalities are like History book, some are blend perfectly with personalities and some right to the History reference, while AL have strong generic anime personalities

It's seems obivous that no side actually wants to understand or at least respect the design or personality of either games ships ( especially on the Kancolle side which is surprising). Oh well...

That's because AL Taihou is Commander sexual, and both shameless and blunt about how she would be willing to do anything said Commander wants. While it's been largely backed away from and not used a whole lot anymore, several ships in AL have trauma associated with their service record and especially how they sank, and Taihou is one of them. Her character story shows that her personality, being clingy, wanting the Commander to notice and desire her stems from how bad her record was as an actual ship and fears that she will be seen as worthless.
tldr; Taihou wants your attention because of trauma and will be lewd to get it, so everybody focuses on her lewdness and not the reason why. Also Albacore jokes.
