I'm trying to work on piecing this together, but judging from comments translated courtesy of Google, it appears that the artist ignited some kind of rivalry between KC and AL players, which is strange, given that we've had crossover cosplay images that haven't garnered 1,200 pages of controversy.

Isn't this just one case where trolls just wanted to make a big deal out of nothing? That said, artist's comment might shed some light to this drawing, which I believe was initially meant to highlight trait connection of two characters.

Edit: It could be wrongly interpreted as the KC Akashi being inferior for not being able to repair damaged ships on the fly and not even battle capable at all (which the character herself admits).

That, or simply mention of "collab" between the two franchise is seen as a taboo.

Then BOOM, out of nowhere came a bunch of KC Brahmin, demanding the artist to delete his artwork because it desecrates the sacredness of KC, and denouncing the artist to be an "unwanted person in KC."
AL fans are not taking this lying down, hence the shitstorm.

The artist, as far as I know, did nothing wrong. Just a player of both KC and AL expressing his love toward his favorite ship.

If you read from the very beginning, provided that no comments has been deleted since, it's literally just KC fanatics materialized from thin air and started talking shit, and their shit hit the fan.
The artist is still being harassed in his PIXIV page.

I had always expected something stupid like this to happen eventually with the two fandom but didnt think it was going to be over something like this.

I was for sure it would cause by something alongs the lines of someone from the AL fandom calling KC the Shibafu game and it spiraling from there with people fighting for and against that notion with no one knowing what the fuck they’re actually angry about.
