I don't know; they're still in the vague shape of a cross by the looks of it. Maybe if they replaced the buttons with vaguely circular ones?

Looks like the mothers get along just fine.

The Switch uses four buttons, as well (due to the need to be used as XYAB buttons when split), and even the Pro controller just has a cap that can be removed and reveals four buttons for each direction.

If you deconstruct the joke, it loses meaning.
