On April 15, the cathedral burned down. Thankfully many of the artifacts were preserved and it is still standing, but to think that so much of it was destroyed is a sad thing for both history and art worlds.

    Fluctuat nec mergitur.

Though the spire, the roof, and part of the vault have been destroyed, Notre Dame is still standing. It will take time, but it will be rebuilt.

I'm really glad, I thought the whole place was burned down and/or many people got injured; but then later I learned that the damage wasn't actually very serious. It was amazing of French people to take care of it so fast. I'm sure they will rebuild it in no time.

And since we already got the complete design data of the building when they made Assassin Creed, we can rebuilt it just fine.

Heck, this is not the first time Notre Dame has been burned down.

Firefighters and priests did an amazing job. The former for putting out the fire and mitigating the damage, the latter for saving the artifacts that could be saved.
