Forgot about that. The way she is holding it just makes me cringe. It will take a lot to brace that shotgun from recoil not to mention keep it on target.

Pretty much the same way Arnold held it in the movie though. He was kind of mimicking the skeletonized Terminators in that scene- in general he was trying much harder to seem like a machine in the first movie, in the second he got a lot more human due to the plot.
The weight pretty much makes the recoil nothing. Most of the wrist strain is just having the strength to keep the gun up on target. This is also notably evidenced from the infamous 1986 Miami Dade shootout that is taught to everyone with even the slightest LE work experience, and examined play by play by everyone and their brother on what went right and wrong.
Serbu Shortys and converted shotgun flare guns on the other hand are absolutely awful to fire one handed.

In (some) games it has the recoil of a angry bull kicking and beating the shit out of you, but with how heavy it is irl...
