She also hit her head. Hard. She's almost certainly concussed, with how they're showing it.

Oh, I presumed that was her back (specifically, breaking the already-damaged spiked shell), but now that you say that, yeah, it does look like the smack was on her head.

It doesn't seem to be as instantaneous a transformation as the games. The previous one didn't happen in the same frame as the impact that knocked off the crown, as well.

Her thinking of Junior while losing consciousness was honestly moving. I think the crown does not merely change the appearance of the wearer but, if it's a male, enhances his feminine/maternal side.
