Actually, she seems to have passed simply because she prefers a different brand. (Sort of like those "here, have some of my candies" "... you're a MOUNTAIN BOY, Admiral?! Forget it, you'll never be able to love a VILLAGE GIRL like me!" arguments. I.E. the joke is that the brand is more important to her than love.)

Eh, I guess it could be interpreted that way (with the change in background indicating a Plasma moment), but it seems more like an accidental slip to me. Like, say, a father joking around and offering a drink to his underage son in jest while waving around a bottle of vodka, only for the son to reply that he prefers a wheat-based vodka instead of potato-based ones, inadvertently revealing he has a discerning palate for alcohol (which implies that he does drink [and a hard liquor at that] even though he's not supposed to).

Likewise, Inazuma indicating a preference for cigarette brands (or rather, 'flavor') would imply that she DOES, well, smoke, despite the good girl image she desperately tries to cultivate. Going from here, the sudden change of background would indicate an "Oh shoot, I DID NOT JUST SAY THAT" moment for her.

Of course, Inazuma still has an out. She could, well, say, "Oh, I was just playing along with the joke, Commander. By the way, what does 'menthol' mean? Saw the word on your cigarette pack."

This would be harder for the hypothetical underage drinking teen. ('though I suppose he could claim he'd been Wikipedia'ing around. Or maybe say he's a James Bond fan and read about it in the novels or forum discussions for the movies.)

That's how I saw it since she hasn't be "compromised" yet. Just making a small talk excuse to refuse which accidentally reveals her experience.
