I might have expressed myself in a wrong way: I meant a way to search for actual military uniforms used for military purposes, independently whether they are real or not instead of military-inspired (e.g. schoolgirls) uniforms or miniskirt uniforms with outrageous cleavages that happen to have epaulettes (which seem to qualify for the military_uniform tag). I just happen to find the military_uniform too broad, while using service branch in the search makes it too restrictive and limited to existing real entities or fictitious organizations the lurker already knows.
Your notion that military uniforms have to follow one type of style is incorrect. They are uniforms used by a military organization, end period, full stop.
Any formal uniform associated with a military, fictional or otherwise. Can include a military hat.
If you want to discuss the above some more, you're much better off going to the forums and creating a new thread there where it'll have more visibility, rather than continuing the discussion here with its very limited visibility.
Is there any way to search for actual military uniforms instead of military-inspired uniforms?
Just search for soldier uniform or something similar. Danbooru makes no distinction between military uniforms and military "uniforms" because there's no real taggable difference..

Not according to your definition. Such a tag if it did exist would be mostly subjective, which we usually don't allow in tags. You could try creating and populating a pool since those can be more subjective, but just know that if it ends up being something like a favorites pool, then it would be subject for deletion.
Also, it seems like you missed my most important point from the prior post.

Because actual military units wearing functional uniforms (or ceremonial ones) tend to carry weapons (heck, weapons are often part of uniform regulations), unlike people wearing cosplay/military-inspired school uniforms. Sure, you'll miss some posts when the weapon is offscreen or when they aren't carrying any, but this is probably the best you can do without resorting to tag exclusions.
