Maybe it's just an end to a group of strips that will end up in a book?

That said, if this is the end, I'm glad it's closing on a high note.

There are more strips on the artist's Twitter, so happily this does not seem to be the end of this series by any means.

More likely than not, the pacing of the strips lead to the story arc ending on an odd count, it would probably have been awkward to include a follow-on strip given the emotions this arc was trying to engender in the reader.
