The existence of a series like this really made me question how a kimo-ota's brain works.

They know they're not good people, they know their action brands the entire anime community as idiotic horndog manchildren, they know girls hate their attitude, they want affection, and given they watch more animes than everyone, one would think they would also consume this "never give up your moral compass no matter what!" message crammed into almost every action series ever more than an average person.

They know their current lifestyle is bad and self destructive, and despite being most prone to wishing they are a Gary Stu perfect human being, they did spend absolutely no effort to actually make themselves a better human being, be it for their own good, for the people around them, for their social circle, or this industry.

If you want a better life, if you want to be admired, BE a better person.

... Hang on a second, what?

A cursory glance at this says that they're actually making a whole anime out of some twitter series of still images of girls glaring while flashing their panties?

I mean, even Tawawa tried to at least have recurring characters with some semblance of a plot before they gave it an anime, but I guess that was a warning sign, itself. Seems like the bar for anime these days is simply "Tits or GTFO" these days.

Where did all the interesting, weird, psychological anime go?

Good thing is, this kind of anime is still a minority. Bad thing is, it's a precedent. If a studio wants to do a cash grab, all they have to do is to pander to the lowest common denominatorwaaaaaaaiiitttttaaaaaminute...

(Unless that's already what you meant by "waaaaaaaiiitttttaaaaaminute")

Lowest common denominator should mean the most basic appeal everyone of all ages and demographics can enjoy, like explosions for explosions sake, or classic good guy punching bad guy you hate so much. This means things like HeroAca or Marvel movies can be "lowest common denominator" and be good as long as it also has other appeals to go spice it up more than just being a banal cliche mountain.

This, decidedly is not lowest common denominator, considering you're going to need to be multiple wrings down the human level of depravity and shamelessness to fully and unironically enjoy it.

So much I question why studios think this is even worth a "cashgrab". Does an anime with a concept that would immediately make most of the general audience go "nope" at a single glance seem like a good marketable product?

These types of animes are so niche on the kimo ota demographics, in a world where tons of other games and animes are already targeting kimo otas and their loose wallets. Too many people, not enough cake, the entire industry starves to death because everyone, both the producers and consumers, don't want to use their brain and try to widen their market instead of narrowing it down.
