You know, if this charm is just redirecting her misfortune, then how can she have so much misfortune that sharing even a tiny fraction of it by waving her hand is enough to immediately cripple people without having enough misfortune before this that she would have been literally incapable of getting out of bed without being repeatedly bombed/hit by a cascade of washpans/stricken by disease/etc?

She (and Fusou) probably have massive misfortune resistance, while other people don't - and are thus affected more. (This is somewhat backed up by later pages). It could also be storing it up before sending it out in a focused misfortune laser!
I think that the charm itself amplifies their negative aura tenfold, given RJ's confirmation that it's partially influenced by Abyssal "ingredients."
That, or fate itself just likes comedic timing with Yamashiro and Fusou's misfortune normally, and Yamashiro is exploiting her own bad luck, like a mad woman given a trickster's bag of weapons.
