    He was incredibly ripped. This person's famous in the Kan-Colle cosplay world. I considered drawing him as Big Sis Yuugi, but then I figured this costume was better!

    Not sure if this actually deserves to be in the Unconventional SFX pool; the original effect, muki, is just a clipped version of the adjective mukimuki, "muscular"...and I'm not sure if that counts as odd SFX in and of itself. (I tend to be a bit conservative on qualifying posts for that pool purely based on interpretive translations, even my own. Sure, "translating" ejaculative gushing and splurting effects as "Sound of imminent pregnancy" is funny, but it technically isn't an accurate translation of the original SFX, which isn't that unusual at all. I'm probably putting too much thought into this.)

    I probably should have, true. The thing is, while the Japanese sound effect itself is standard for the language, it's still a bit odd for English, kind of like the classic shiiiiin for "silence", so I hedged a little on whether that would count as unusual in and of itself to others less familiar with Japanese. Like I said, I was putting too much thought into this.
