Konishi does not disappoint!

Arare's hat is so important you can consider her as a Touhou chara.

After Ooshio lost hers though, everyone was worried that it was precisely the opposite.

Slight differences from her sisters from what I can tell are that she has no ribbon, like Arashio, and her skirt goes past her knees.

I kind of want to tag her hat as a helmet though now, considering how metallic it looks, plus the chinstrap.

Arare's Kai 2 upgrade explanation, anyone?

Alright i have to say this but,
I miss her wrist mounted torp launcher.
while i get that "you hold guns with your hands" but
a wrist mounted torp launcher on both hands wouldve been awesome.

Finally Arare got a Kai-2. I'm so happy to know that the Asashio classes arent just forgotten.
And she is just drop dead gorgeous. I love it.

Because that's how it's listed in official naval record (page 4, fifth column from right under 朝潮型).

Given what happened with Ashigara / Haguro, my guess is that they're already numbered when the navy ordered for new ships to be built so it doesn't matter which ship is built / launched first.

It makes sense since the ships are all built in different shipyards so one shipyard might be more free to start constructing new ship than the other at any particular time.

Edit: Pro tip, only ship order in Japanese wikipedia is to be trusted.
