Did a bit of research. She doesn't take it into herself, but stockpiles it in the environment around her, which is why it's unlucky to be around her. Misfortune doesn't effect her, because when it comes down to it, misfortune and fortune are "opposite sides of the same coin".
And if we alter our perspective, it could be Shion is taking the misfortune Hina's built up. Hina takes exorcised misfortune from humans, and gives that misfortune to other gods.
