Hexen is one of those games that I enjoy in small doses but hasn't aged well. Heretic has the advantage of being more compatible with doom mods, in general, but Hexen has hubs and I love my hubs.

I remember playing it when I was, like, five. I remember refusing to use the mouse because the weapons auto-aimed vertically and I wasn't used to it.

Only had the shareware version for the longest time, but never managed to clock it. I think I kept getting stuck on the fifth level.
