A more sensible alternative to the AP 'bra'. Yamato's always been a big girl, but she seemed to want the "Madonna in the Nineties" really pointy look in her original canon appearance.

If anything, those shell cups are just an added layer of protection for Yamato while also providing a little extra oomph in the process.

In the real world, having breasts 2/3rds the size of your head is pretty large. Her "AP Bra" didn't so much make things terribly larger, they just made things a lot pointier.
