    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2374

I'd previously seen photos on Twitter of dōjinshi boxes that got soaked through, so I got scared and things ended up like this.

I figure if they reach Customs, then heck, it's fine if they're opened.

Air Mail is fast, but it sure is expensive. Surface Mail is cheap, but it takes 2-3 weeks to arrive.

Reader-added tags include "Pointless effort if it's opened for inspection", "Matryoshka", and "There's Gap Mail, isn't there?"

    This is one first-class survey:

Whom shall we have deliver it?
    • Witch's Courier Service
    • Space Convenience House
    • Roadbuster
    • Han Solo
    • Lagoon Company

I know this feeling very well. I did the same for our stroopwaffles for Reitaisai. Packaged it all carefully. Box inside box. Extra padding with newspaper and bubble wrap as "cushion" . Even though it wasn't opened by customs, it got severely damage on the way. Some waffles got damaged and we decided not to give them away but eat them ourselves.

Sounds delicious, even if they were crumpled.

Sadly, they weren't exactly that delicious because they got crumpled. Somehow seems to transform the flavour.

So you and Warugaki has to finish them off? Could be the texture was badly affected by the crumpling, and if there were air pockets between the dough and the caramel syrup... well, that'd affect the flavor.

Yea, the caramel also oozed out due to pressure/squeezing of the waffles. The bad looking ones we distributed among the circle members. I had shipped 238 small packages of stroopwaffles in four boxes and about 15 packages or so were like this.

I don't think I'll try to ship such delicate food a second time. Not at this scale.

15 out of 238 isn't bad - that's about 6%. And yeah, if you squeeze the filling out, that'd definitely mess with the texture and flavour. I can see the issue.

I wouldn't trust anything delicate if it's not in carryon luggage.... and even then, given how international flights pack luggage into the overhead compartment, it'd not be 100%. It'd be safer transporting small knickknacks, like keychains or something. I'd hate to try shipping small bottles of maple syrup the way you did the stroopwaffles.

    ※Anti-rough treatment measures & anti-flooding measures (primary)
This time, wrap that box in transparent tape.
You realize this is pointless if it's opened for Customs?
Sending packages to Benben-san's place, as she lives in Taiwan.
Wind shrink wrap around the box.
    That...looks pretty darned sturdy...
    Because Air Mail's Expensive
    Whooaarrrgh
First, pack books into a box.
It's because Surface Mail seems to handle packages roughly...
    ※Anti-flooding measures (secondary)
    Gyyyrrrrk
Nest the box inside another box.
