Not really, just that you have protectionist laws impeding economical importation from over seas sources to replace a partly failed local crop, also spiced with some of the usual xenophobia/exceptionalism with some vague mumbling from the companies about the supposed lack of 'quality' of import options, as if a mass produced chip smothered in artificial cheese and tomato flavoring somehow demands only the finest of potatoes for it's production...

They do have American snack brands sold pretty widely when I visited there two years ago, so they do import foreign snacks, at least the more popular and well-known, brand-name ones (Oreos, Kit-Kats, even Pringles).
