It's just Alpaca Suri. There isn't any other character that goes by that name, so it doesn't need any way of differentiating it from anyone else. Most of the other characters only need (kemono_friends) added to the end because their name is literally the same as the regular animal.

While that may be true, there's something to be said for keeping it consistent, just so that people can intuitively guess what the proper tag should be. If someone was genuinely trying to guess the tag, and kept getting it wrong... (Although auto-complete should have helped with that one, while some with hard-to-guess starts to a name are more difficult.)

The tagging confusion could probably be fixed by converting all the alpaca_suri tags to alpaca_suri_(kemono_friends) tags. The staff probably have a quicker way of doing it than picking through all (currently) 125 images with that tag and manually changing them all.

That said, what about the kaban tag? I'm also of the opinion of keeping it consistent and attaching series names to the ends of character names. We shouldn't leave it up to when another character named Kaban shows up to start changing the tags, as unlikely as that may be.

Seriously? Kaban means bag anyway and so far no one used it as a name before. lol

The very fact that lucky_beast_(kemono_friends) exists shows how the tagging system is not standardised at all. There ain't another character named lucky beast as far as I know.
Sometimes it isn't simply whether another series uses the same name or not. Take certain tags, like anchovy for instance. Are you referring to the fish, or the person? Standardising the way character tags are made by including the series name behind it makes it very clear what exactly one would find when they search the tag on Danbooru, and what exactly goes into the tag when tagging. This makes Danbooru tags more user-friendly. It also prevents wrongly tagging any characters in the future, on the off-chance that another series, or even another fanart uses the same exact name for a different character (like if someone actually drew a real-life alpaca suri, not the anthropomorphised one).
Of course, it's just me being nitpicky and questioning why it isn't standardised when making the tags in the first place (kinda disconcerting to see everyone except kaban and alpaca suri having the series names). I also understand the mentality "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", but the tagging system could be improved to make the tags understandable at a glance.
