The grocery bag lining the trash can, household staple of broke singles everywhere.
Isn't it the standard way of keeping the trash can clean and making waste disposal more convenient? It keeps fluids off the trash can and makes it easier to pick up all the trash at once to be disposed to the dumpster. Plus it uses the mountains of plastic bags after a shopping run for something.
My family recycles most of our plastic bags from shopping, but even then we still keep some for use in our small garbage cans. Just seems silly they even sell small garbage bags.

My household has always used purpose-made trash bags. They tend to be stronger plastic: we stuff a lot of things in our trash bins that would poke and sheer shopping bags.
Those used tissues on the futon (and not in the trash bin) though :3c.
...unless she was crying, then I feel bad for innuendo.
Seeing where abouts they are on the futon I suspect you were correct the first time. I can't help bu suspect that thing on the table in the second panel might be some kind of hidden camera, with it's glowing eyes. Panel one looks like it could be the view from said camera. Though that brings up a little error, the trash bin beside her in panel two is missing in panel one.
I would like to know how she developed those confidence issues and became a neet. She has a dynamite body and a very pretty face, there would be no end to the number of guys wanting to go out with her if she just tried a little.

Also albino, which is exotic enough to attract attention.
Or maybe she doesn't go out much *because* she's an albino. They get sunburned easily.

Could be right, and the lack of trash can in panel 2 could just be artistic preference to not clutter the view too much.
But anyway... If her parents didn't seem normal/kind enough, I'd say they were probably the cause. But that isn't the case, they seem like a rather decent lot.
Perhaps she just has major social anxiety issues in general? I've known a person around the same age as Neeko—about as objectively attractive to boot—but, she has crippling anxiety issues whenever she's in anywhere but her home. The problems from the better part of half of her life seem to chain her there, afraid to leave. To her credit, therapy does seem to be helping coax her out of her room, but I don't really know how psychologists/psychiatrists in Japan work.
