    Inhaling or ingesting (vomiting blood and coughing blood can look functionally the same) some form of acid can cause it, and if we have some allowances for magically fast-acting poisons, virtually any necrotoxin that can be inhaled would cause the lungs to decay and bleed until they were coughing blood.

    That may be true, but for this master the suffering itself brings him bliss, thus the blood and pain.
