Depends on the kind of girl you pick, and also you interact together. Some guys pick girls who get offended over silly things and treat everything as a power game and a battle of the sexes. Women who assert their "independence" and probably should stay independent. Other guys get a really doting girl but the way they treated them when they first met was only for impression and they can't keep up the facade and the girl gets upset. Best option to me is to just be honest from the get go. Don't treat her with any special treatment in the start that you would not do years from now, and be upfront with things you want to do together. Most girls are pretty smart and will get the hint to your tastes, and if they are really smart, they will know how to leverage it as persuasion without holding it hostage so any friction generally ends with both sides winning.
