Well maybe those ghosts hadn't moved on yet while these two did and thus they went to the Fighter verse.

Vahalla is suppose to a paradise for those weary souls that have moved on after battle. You just have to do the moving on part.

So it's like, they popped in to a "reality" where they see the episode where they died, and then felt the sadness of those they left behind.
