Well, you never know, even reanimated there may be something useful to transplant in there.

I remember reading about "corpses with a pulse"... Basically, because the brain can die much faster than other bodily organs, the bodies of organ donors are kept alive even after the brain is dead (and they are therefore counted as clinically dead) because it's a way of preserving organs for transplant.

Depending on how Jiangshi work, it might be something similar - they're technically "dead", but could still prevent the organs from becoming necrotic long enough to make transplants viable.

Also, I'm reminded of that character from Franken Fran that was a living organ container with an anemone for a face...
