I've been fighting with this very issue for a good while now. I really don't like re-uploading something someone else (or myself) has already uploaded. Duplicates bad.
But if the overall quality and or dimensions are obviously better, then I will. Higher def good. But if not... Like it's just marginal and not really noticeable at all (many twitter to pixiv converts for instance)... Then I personally don't. I just leave it. Seems like a waste to me.
Although, many disagree. Thus all the "duplicates" on danbooru over the past year. Personally, if I can't visually see the difference in a glance then it's a duplicate in my book. But most around here seem to read from a different book than I do in regards to this matter.
Actually, the reason I am here is because I found this on pixiv and went to upload. But saw you already had it and decided to abstain. Just how I roll.
But being you are considering the Pixiv version you are safe regardless of my banter. Pixiv is very good about file size and quality for the most part and is desired for this reason. Thus many will re-upload if a Pixiv version becomes available.

I'm a bit pedantic about having the "best" image available uploaded, duplicates be damned. Really though I'd have those duplicates deleted if I could as we do for samples.
So for two identical images I chose the larger. In this case however there are visual distinctions which are debatable. If you go back and forth between them the difference is striking and both seem very desirable. I will probably end up uploading the Pixiv version as well.
