I don't think it needs an artist for that kind of reaction. Ppl who don't draw but an avid art collectors can point out these things, because they are used to look at famous artists works that they know what's considered good form or not.

on the contrary an artist who draw but don't look much for references would have trouble drawing body proportions. Not drawing nose is an option for manga style art in case you don't know
