It's not certain that Chrona is a girl, but yeah, I'd question the "safe" rating too.

I think I remember Chrona being referred to as a he.

As I understand it, Chrona's gender is still officially undetermined, even by the author.

There was a subbed episode where someone said Chrona was Medusa's DAUGHTER.

...that's just it, the subbers don't know either if she's a girl or not, they just put daughter in for no other reason than to fill space. I'm pretty sure that the same group specifies later on that they have no clue wether or not Chrona is a girl, much like everyone else.

Just like the subbers, people who translate the manga are just speculating as well. I'm pretty sure we still have no official work on his/her gender. (Although I think it's a guy.. lol.)

"Crona is Medusa's daughter" can't prove anything...
Why I say this?
Maybe according to this(English) (http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p25/06cloud/33.jpg ), it suggests that Crona is a girl. But, according to this(Chinese Version) (http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p25/06cloud/s05066-2.jpg ), it suggests otherwise. there writes "Crona is my son"(I have circled that part...)
By the way, I support that Crona is a girl...

I go with Crona as a boy. He uses "Boku" to refer to himself, which is used by boys and tomboyish/tsundere girls. Even if the author himself doesn't know, I still go with boy. :P
