Wasnt that always been the case 8 years ago? Hence Japan's current debacle with how they will get the venues running and the logo controversy etc etc...
The 2020 games were awarded to Tokyo in September 2013. The Olympic committee always announces a host city seven years in advance to give that city time to get ready. This does not fit the Hindsight pool at all. Removing.
