    and its charms!
Spinning Signboard Yamada Udon was known to have one of Japan's first spinning signboards.
    Eh, Hyuuga?
    Yamada Udon
    Tanuki Udon or Soba
    Economically steep menu
    Soul food of Saitama people
They also sell Curry, Fried rice, Shougayaki-don, Katsu-don and other side menus despite being an Udon and Soba restaurant. Typically they sell those together with Soba or Udon as a set for one person. It will fill your stomach.
    Ramen Simple, Orthodox style
    Hyuuga, you're having curry again?
Hyuuga, which one should i choose?
    Udon
A typical Curry Rice For 1 pax
They may be an Udon restaurant, but recently they also serve Ramen and Spaghetti, showcasing a substantial lineup of noodles! Of course, the taste is "typical"
    The taste is "typical"
    They don't discriminate noodles
You didn't get bored of it.
    Quite a work today...
Spaghetti The noodles are very stringy
It isn't exactly the best taste, but it's far from being bad. It a 'typical' taste that you can keep on eating everyday.
    Mmm... Back to work.
    Soba
Kakashi Curry Set (Curry + Udon or Soba) 590 Yen
    Kakashi Curry scarecrow curry
Other restaurants may pursue "deliciousness" or "refined" in their goal, but Yamada Udon keeps their priorities straight and doesn't aim big.

    Soba
Yamada Udon provides soft noodles to grade and junior high school's canteen in Saitama.
    School lunch
A lot of kids in Saitama can pretty much say "I grew up with that" regarding the food.

Come to think of it, The taste is pretty agreeable even for a lunch break meal.
It's an Udon franchise restaurant with 170 stores spanning across 6 prefecture around Kanto region (with half of it at Saitama). It can be found mainly at the national highways, with the patron consists of mostly truck drivers and people who work at a corporation-owned factory and the neighborhood surrounding it.
And the taste is obviously, "typical"!
Why was it called a "punch" to begin with?
Somewhat soft in texture! For 1 pax
    Punch...?
They surprisingly recommends their "Punch" (Motsuni) Motsuni is Japanese stewed giblets
In the 50th Showa (1976), Motsuni was just started to be commercialized for public. There was a discussion on what should it be called. Then someone suggest a name that packs a 'punch'. Then let's just call it a "Punch" then! And the rest is history.
