Interestingly you cannot get rid of her. However there is a "neglect" button. I suppose that means that the only way is to ignore her until she dies of loneliness and starvation (attention). What kind of shitty pet owner would do that?

I assume that it's less a case of 'you can't let her go' and more a case of 'she won't leave you': depending on how the mechanics of the game work, you might be able to neglect her to the point where she isn't head-over-heels for you, at which point you can let her go.
