The key part is that they have to add breading to actually contain the butter, so it's basically the most buttery roll/corn biscuit ever. (Dependent upon what batter was used.)

Look at the child post's comments for a pretty long string of comments and examples of things people did to "top" this monstrosity. (Including deep-fat-frying Kool-Aid or a snickers bar wrapped in bacon in Monster energy drink...)

Again, I say we need to get Ido a plane ticket to New Orleans to try some actually EDIBLE food that can be considered distinctly "American" rather than claiming somehow Americans only eat McDonalds, Pizza Hut, and state fair dare food.

Makes me want to deep fry some pickles and tomatoes today.

One of my personal recipes for making a simple breading is:
2 slices of bread (finely crumbed)
    3 tsp of garlic powder
    2 tsp of parsley
    1 tsp of onion powder
    .5 tsp of black powder
    .5 tsp of cayenne powder
    .5 cup flour

All these things were pretty common place and cheep so it was the first recipe I threw together in college. I also like a bit more crunch so I double bread the item being fried.

If you do not like things with heat just take out the cayenne and if your are a gassy person skip on the onion powder.

I'm pretty sure Ido isn't taking the time to research where fried butter came from any further than "America". Just like having "the Brit" Kongou love Marmite, this just seems to be a "look what garbage crazy foreigners are willing to eat" thing. (Or in other words, if a French ship gets added, you can bet there's going to be escargot.)

Everybody gets the stereotype treatment in this pool, you know?

You feel offended as if these comics would be funnier if the author used "real" food. Maybe you don't know about, but ship girls don't exist either. :P

Oh, I also bet Japanese eat anything else than just rice, curry and ice cream but I don't see you raise a word about it.

You don't seem to realize that just a few posts earlier in this pool, "Japanese food" is presented as salmon, miso, and white rice as the "sane" food to compare to the pizza and hamburgers that were the only thing Iowa had ever eaten up until now. Or that I've raised words about it previously in previous posts. Or that "ship girls don't exist" is utterly irrelevant when they're using characters in a Hetalia-like representation of a country and less as literal beings.

I have watched an episode of family guy where Peter got a Cook-off with Quagmire using only butter.. I thought it was only a joke but from this comic and conversations, wow it is real..

You still haven't realized this is only a comic, the percentage of fat people is a lot higher in America (not just the USA) because food and bad habit exercising and no one likes Sheldon Cooper, so chill out. It's only fiction, to feel offended over nothing is bad for your health.

Those ARE staple japanese foods. The overall japanese diet was very low in fats until (relatively) recently with the introduction of western cuisine. Stuff like beef was a luxury.

Be salty all you want, but the simple fact is that american food is overall fattier than the average and japanese food is the opposite.

As a personal anecdote my sister lost like 3Kg without doing anything special after she came back home from the US, even though she cooked her own meals. Yes, it was entirely the difference in ingredients.

Every country has its own 'delicacy' and normal foodstuffs, ido choose delicacy because its more interesting for his comic materials
