I'm out of tune with this. The first thing that came to mind was "what's this? Gravity Falls with a different skin?".

It looks like I'm not wrong at all... and that isn't a bad thing.

Not actually.
They both ran at the same time and i guess there's some similarity between the main duos (cautious guy, lovably kooky girl) otherwise they're pretty different shows, with very different influences.
But if you like good cartoons, you'll like Star.
