Well IIRC this female admiral (do she has a name/nickname yet?) is some sort of high ranking admiral, so it make sense.

So is Admibro. But the Lesbian Admiral is a skirt chaser who sexually harasses people. No wonder poor Tokonatsu got stationed by himself to a base with a flirtatious Fubuki - it's the ultimate in harassment.

I was under the impression that all Navy guys can swim well enough. Well, I knew that wasn't the case though.

Admiral Lez, the poor dude is already suffering literal citadel hits to his sanity by an unknowing Fubuki (and to the viewers likely)... don't make him incapacitated some more.

Back in the age of sail, a lot of sailors deliberately didn't learn how to swim, because they figured being able to would only prolong the suffering if their ships sank or they fell overboard. That hasn't been the case for a long while, though. Pretty sure they're taught in Basic these days.

Then again, a lot of KanColle fan works take the view that the ship girls' admirals aren't real naval officers, they're civilians who were pressed into service on a sort of Last Starfighter principle, so who knows. :)

The one that was berated for trying to become a ship boy was Admibro, per the Ooi story about how she became a shipgirl - Tokonatsu-kun may be able to see fairies, but that doesn't preclude him from being able to swim, especially since that may or may not be taught in school.

Still, it's an incredibly good excuse for him to get into close physical proximity with Fubuki - just as Les Admiral intended? She knew about it, at least... and may have set him up with the innocent(?) destroyer.
