I told a student to heat up a chemical mixture in a water bath. She went and dumped the entire thing inside it.

Hilariously, my Chemistry teacher apparently had lots of similar experience, so the first time my class doing experiment involving water bath, she reminds us repeatedly not to pour into the water.
