Matrix ruined the concept of the soul within the robot and I hate them for it...

I just noticed, its possible that they are both dead in this picture. The robot doesn't have his "eyes" shining. Either they are simply not visible, or he powered down for good.

Lesson learned today: DO NOT mix the contents of this pool (along with 'Spring', from the same artist) with "Final Fantasy Theme". The resulting reaction is enough to break one's heart several times over.

The smaller robot was growing up so she had to swap out older parts for newer ones. And like most parents, she kept some of it as a keepsake of it's childhood.

I feel like there is some major jump in the story from the last drawing. Or maybe as she died he held her arm and hasn't let go since. Sitting there with his companion for all eternity.
