More like the BBs were supposed to engage Yamato in glorious fisticuffs, CV force went in and stole the kill
Mitscher asked Spruance, who was commanding the surface forces, if he wanted to take them. Spruance, knowing of Yamato's capabilities from Sibuyan Sea camera footage, and also being quite possibly the smartest person in the USN, said "You take them."
I bet E would be bummed out at missing Ten-Go in reality. The closer you get to completing that battle-star collection, the more the missing ones hurt.

I don't think the battle-star for Ten-Go is that much worth since that battle was pretty much one-sided from the beginning

I was just being figurative. Ten go is part of the Okinawa star, which E earned in blood. She was just a little too out of range for the attack on Yamato.
That were specially built or remodeled for AA duty
Type 96 25mm AA guns were largely inadequate for the task, with their usage of fixed 15-round box magazines (which slowed their rate of fire considerably), slow training and elevating speeds, excessive vibration and muzzle flash and that's not counting the ammunition shortages near the end of the war.
Sure, the remaining Akizuki's had their 10cm/65 Type 98 AA guns, but they were also hampered by the lack of proximity fuses and radar systems comparable to ones used by the US Navy.

I said nothing about it actually is effective, which I already know. But thanks for the FYI anyway.

Your original statement was open for an alternate interpretation, which I possess the ownership of, which belongs to me, L. H. Komori. Brackets Mister, brackets, that I presented, which is mine and belongs to me, and I own it and what it is, too.
The BBC would like to apologize to Danbooru about that last statement. It was not meant to represent the average Danbooru commentary. Similarly, the reference to Anne Elk, the character played by John Cleese in drag, was the product of a disordered mind and should not be construed as having any other significance.
Does anyone appreciate the amount of hell the devs would have to go through making American kanmusu when more Essex-class carriers were used during the war than Fubuki-class destroyers?
Yamato:"This isn't good at all... Musashi-chan I'm sorry, but we won't be seeing each other again..." (Plane squadrons so dense they black out the sky descending on Yamato...)
Don't blame me for not holding back!EnterprisePacific Commander-in-chiefDamn it~You only have one battleship left, still not gonna surrender?I have infinite Essexes, do you really think you can win?
