THe Destroyers have their names coming from natural phenomenons though. Submarines are numbers.

Most Japanese battleships are named after ancient districts. Kongo-class however are exception because they began their service as battlecruiser and such are named after mountains instead.

Battleship : names form old district (include Kaga, because her originally built as battleship.)

Battle cruiser, Heavy cruiser : names form mountain (include Akagi and Kongo-class, because they originally built as battle cruiser.)

Light cruiser : names form river (include Mogami-class, because they originally planned to built as light cruiser.)

Aircraft carrier : names from bird/mythical flying animal (aka. dragon, crane, falcon.)

Destroyer : names from natural phenomenons.

Japanese geography would become a lot more entertaining that way.

Mount Atago in Kyoto
Mount Atago in Iwate
Mount Atago in Miyagi
Mount Atago in Yamagata
Mount Atago in Fukushima

(albeit, they are probably named after the child shrines of the main Atago Shrine in Kyoto)

There's Zuihou
And Hiyou can also be a location
While Chitose airport is one of the busiest in Japan.

Shouldn't the Haruna shrine be just past that torii gate? I'd certainly make a large offering in that donation box if you know what I mean.
