Yes but she probably wants her WSD in pristine condition.
The bad thing is she brought a magazine from a convenience store so it would be anything but pristine since many, many, MANY people tend to stand there and read it, and in some cases even rip it.
Should have went to a bookstore or gotten one that's plastic sealed.
If you think that was bad, I once bought a new manga that was sealed from the start. When I opened a page, the corner was folded. With the folded corner already cut to fit the rest of the page.

Yeah, that'll happen sometimes during printing. A corner of a signature will get folded over as the stack's fed into the trimming machine, and so the excess on that corner will get mis-trimmed.
