That takes... some skill I guess, I find amusing Europe-Asian people have the "world map" looking like that, from where Im from (America continent) we got it with america on the left.

You sure it's not the other way round.
I'm sure European maps had America on the left side and America had itself in the middle.
I might be wrong as the only thing I remember reliably (I think) is that European Maps have the gulf of Guinea as the middle of their maps.

All of the non-globe maps we had in my school classrooms in the US looked like this.

Doesn't matter since the whole planet has Eccentricity, obliquity, Precession. And if you check satelital images is all about perspective (and the circle that represent our planet in 2 dimensions) it depends, specially, from the coordinate and when the satelite takes the photo.

For example: If you are in Canada now, even if you live in the North hemisphere in this moment the planet could be oriented to the "south" or "down".
