No, you'd be surprised how easily boys can miss the signals. You've probably done it before, yourself.

You see, women have this crazy idea living up since ancient times from childhood to marry (or divorce) where men are supposed to guess whatever they are thinking. Something bothers her? Find out. Ask her directly? No, you have to interpret "the signals"™. Can't we just talk directly like civilized people and solve this problem quick? Nope, your problem not mine.

This takes to the even longest tradition of recurring to a friend(zoned) and talk about how no one she likes can't understand her. Even when she has been giving "the signals"™ properly. It's ironic that makes one of the few moments they can talk clearly how they feel, just with the wrong person.
