I just don't know what to make of this. Obviously the artist is trying to screw with people by making them think that there is some meaning behind this. Something like Cow Tools (which I know the story behind). But, it's just Alice on rice.

I was confused until I did. I'm getting used to shutting my brain off to enjoy his work.

The picture confused me to such a degree that I could not see the artist tag.

I think the reason why most people do not notice that this is Ao Usagi's work is that we usually recognize most of his works from the characters' faces.

Close but not quite. Margatroid in japanese phonetics is "Magatoroid", the pun is in the title of this picture "Magatoro" with "toro" being the more costly fatty cut of Tuna.

And I forget the ending "o" in "Magatoroido"...

So it's a joke of Magatroid = Maguro and Alice(arisu) = Rice (raisu)

Somehow, I am imagining Ao Usagi drawing his pictures, while cosplaying as Hentai Kamen or Hard Gay. And I would not be surprised that he does.

I don't think there's anything really weird about Ao Usagi, It's just that he doesn't pull punches when it comes to materializing weird ideas.

He just draws the things when other artists say "I can't draw that, it's too weird"

Best way to pass time:

1. Look at an Ao Usagi picture or comic.

2. Turn brain to "full rationalization" mode.

3. You will be knocked unconscious.

4. Now, you can pass time asleep!

Note: you must be careful, too much rationalization and you'll become a veggie.

The slang term for a woman who lies completely still in bed is maguro (tuna). For me, with my western sensibilities and preconceptions, calling someone a ‘tuna’ in bed sounds like an insult, conjuring up images of cold dead fish, but in Japan that word has a very positive connotation. Tuna’s an expensive delicacy.
