I've always wondered, what about Snake regeneration? That seems to honestly work perfectly every time Orichimaru or Sasuke used it. Seems to trump Hashirama's cell without the horrible "ugly" side effect.

That wasn't regeneration. It was like shedding skin, and the jutsu is only available to Orochimaru. Mind you, Sasuke only used it once (and other snake-related techniques) after he absorbed the snake bastard, but could no longer utilize it after Itachi sealed Oro.
