And here my job is done. Someone please take care of the tags as I have to go for now.
Done, thank you for translating.
You know, Marisa is awfully spry for someone who's gotta be, what, 116 or so? Give or a take a few years depending on when they started having these annual tea parties.
Patchouli was already over 100. It's really weird that this guy thinks Marisa's going to age when no one else has.
Remember that the others are already complete magicians, and are some kind of youkai, they dont age that fast, while Marisa is a human magician, and still age.
Does becoming a youkai magician rejuvenate? If not, that would explain why she's still alive yet an old hag; she didn't manage to complete the transition until she was already in her 80s or 90s.

In Touhou, magicians can research a "stop ageing" spell that renders them immortal (well, they still can be killed, but they don't grow old and die). Casting this spell also turns them into a youkai, if they weren't one before (Alice's case).
Patchy was born as a magician (it's strange, okay?) which means she probably was always and will always be like that.
Marisa also doesn't want to become a Youkai. Alice was retconned into a human that became a magician(essentially converting to youkai). That's why Marisa is really interested in Byakuren's youth magic since Byakuren is still classified as a human rather than youkai. Marisa wants to retain her humanity.

Wait, what? Byakuren is the same kind of being as Alice: magician (formerly human). Byakuren is a full youkai now.

Magicians are classified as youkai in canon and any of that other aging stuff your talking about is fanfiction.

Yes she does. She's openly admitted to it in the games. You need to check the source material, man. You're totally off on all accounts there.

No, there are various types of magicians: natural born like Patchouli, humans who use magic and become youkai like Alice, and humans who only use magic like Marisa. And no one of them has long lifespan from the beginning, not even natural youkai like Patchouli. They have to learn how to not age on their own, so Marisa will age and die as a normal human if she can't make herself stop aging.

Any source for this? AFAIK she doesn't want to become a youkai, but only to find a way to live longer, which is why she tried to make an elixir of immortality and briefly got interested in taoism (very briefly). I'm asking because it seems to me that it's just your usual being in denial of everything that isn't cute and fluffy, including denying that death by ageing could be a thing in touhou".
