During ZZ some of them were upgraded with panoramic cockpits but they were rare. Incidentally, the cockpit looks a lot like Kshatriya's to go along with Miku's Marida-like pilot suit.

Upon reading Ecole du Ciel, it seems that Spacenoids tend to find panoramic displays distracting and prefer the framing and focus offered by the mono eye. It's probably has something to do with a slight precognition, perhaps even from those who aren't newtypes.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Miku a robot? If so then why bother with a helmet?

Well, it's clearly not to prevent suffocation - it has two obvious vents in it. I guess it protects her from impacts or shrapnel.
